Data gets damaged or lost due to a variety of causes such as virus attacks, accidentally deleted, software failure, hardware failure (electronic or hard drive), accidents, such as flood damage, dropping computer or laptop ... and so on. Often a large percentage of this data can be recovered using a variety of Specialist Services techniques.
All data recovery work undertaken by MjM is under a Free diagnosis and a no recovery no-fee policy.
We have a monitored class 100 clean air system to minimize micro-particle contamination when hard disk drives (HDD) need to be opened to determine the failure, and to make repairs before recovering the data. Even a single dust particle could be catastrophic whilst the hard disk drive is open.
The initial diagnosis determines the failure mode of the hard disk drive.
Typical failure modes are:
Logical for example where a hard drive is working, but the data is no longer accessible.
Electronic failure where one or more components have failed on the electronics board on the underside of the drive, or internal head pre-amplifier circuitry inside the drive has failed. Both will require temporary repairs made so your data can be accessed.
Mechanical failure, for example the motor has failed or the hard disk's heads are clicking.
Following the diagnosis, any necessary repairs are made, if the drive needs to be opened in order to facilitate such repairs, the work is done in a Class-100 clean air environment to avoid particle contamination.
Once the repairs are complete and the hard drive is deemed recoverable, an exact copy (or clone) of the data is made to a second suitably sized media.
Finally, the recovered data on the image media is tested for accessibility and that the critical files open within their respective programs, any further logical repairs are made if necessary. Once testing is complete, the recovered data is then copied to CD, DVD or external USB hard disk supplied by us - (other recovery media options are available at cost).
