Over the years, the storage capacity and reliability of hard disk drives (HDD) has increased dramatically to meet the demands of modern operating systems. Unfortunately hard disks fail just the same as any other electro mechanical device - or of course, accidents happen. The main problem now though, is that you have lost all your data.

With our hard disk recovery services, we recover data from almost all hard disk failure and get you back up and running as quickly as possible.

Data write off? - not necessarily

We have been able to recover data from hard disk drives where it had been considered a write-off by other data recovery companies. Examples include hard drives severely damaged by fire or flood, laptop computers dropped down stairs or run over by a car, you name it, we have probably seen it!

Do's and don'ts if you have lost data:

• STOP: If you think you have lost your data stop using your hard drive, pc or laptop. The less you do, the better chance of recovery .
• NOTE the last things you did or happened - example:
  
  • Did/does the drive or computer make any strange noises?
  • Was there a power spike just before the failure or were there thunderstorms nearby?
  • Did the computer/drive get an accidental knock or jolt
    
• DON'T make changes to your data or your hard drive.
• DON'T open the hard drive. Even a single dust particle could be catastrophic whilst the hard disk drive is open.
• If you must work on whatever other data you still have on the hard drive copy it to a new hard drive or different machine and work on it there. DON'T work on the original drive.

Seagate data recovery

Know problems with specific model ranges of Seagate 'F3' type [mainly 7200.11 and 7200.12 series]. We were the one of the first companies in the UK to be able to repair drives with this problem. (More info here about our Seagate data recovery services)

 

Maxtor data recovery

When powering up the computer, the hard disk will either not show in the BIOS at all or show one as one of the following Aliases instead of its original model number. Such as - Maxtor Athena, Nike, N40P, Ares64, Romulus, Calypso, Proxima, Gala, Rigel, Vulcan and others. (More info here about our Maxtor data recovery services)

Maxtor have a wide range of drives, and within each range there are the different drive sizes.

 

Fujitsu data recovery

Fujitsu hard disks are generally reliable drives. However, with the MPG and MPF series of drives, we noticed a significant rise in the number of drives requiring data recovery.

As soon as the drives started arriving, our research department set to work on writing software and developing advanced techniques to resolve the issue. We have recovered over 600 of these drives using our in house procedures. Many other data recovery companies send their Fujitsu hard drives to us to recover when they are unable to. Western Digital data recovery

These are probably the most common drives and are generally quiet and reliable, however we have seen a small percentage of these drives failing due to system area corruption that we have managed to recreate by power cycling the drive rapidly. We believe that this is not a manufacturing problem.

We have developed in-house software tools and techniques to recover data from drives with this and other system area, electronic and mechanical problems. Toshiba laptop recovery

Some models of Toshiba laptop drives appear to be suffering from seized, slow or failing motors. The symptoms of failure are that the drive will make horrendous screeching noises just before failing, this is the fluid bearing starting to seize. Other noises they make sound like loud grinding or rattling and finally no noise at all or very quiet 'creaking' noises when the motor has completely seized. We are able to perform data recovery on all Toshiba hard disks with seized motors and we have a very high success rate. Contact us for more information.
